What is this "Day of Love"?
Due to the recent rulings in California, USA to uphold Proposition 8, many of us feel that this world needs a reminder of what love is really about.
The rainbow stands for gay pride, but it also stands for love that will shine even through the rain and stormy weather. The theme, "love is not black and white." is a reminder to everyone that love has many forms and it is not exclusive to hetrosexual couples.
How You can Help
On August 8th, 2009, we encourage everyone to create a piece of art depicting the theme "Love is Not Black and White." Submit your artwork with the tag "AUG809" so we can find it, and we will add it here to the favorites. Our goal is to smother DeviantART in Art that promotes peace, love and equality. The rest is up to you!
Guidelines
Please no violent or hateful messages towards the other side. We want to promote peace, not hostility. Tasteful nudity is accepted. Just be aware that some may not be able to see your work due to filters. You may create as many submissions as you want-- the more the merrier! Fanart is allowed! Just remember to incorporate the theme somehow. You may submit your artwork earlier, but keep in mind that we're going for an explosive effect on August 8th.
